Marine Electronics Specialists Celebrate Landmark 20th Anniversary


Active Research, creators of the award-winning marine electronics brand Actisense, have celebrated their landmark 20th Anniversary with a special event welcoming distributors and local dignitaries.

Multi-award winning NMEA specialists, Active Research, has hosted a special 20th year anniversary celebration. Active Research has established an enviable worldwide reputation within the last two decades as creators of the Actisense marine electronics brand as well as advisors to other reputable marine electronics manufacturers such as Airmar and Raymarine. Their award-winning NMEA products are now exported to over 70 distributors in 40 countries. These stretch as far afield as the US, New Zealand, Iceland, China and now all of mainland Europe.

Actisense 20 Anniversary with Mayors Party

Founded by Phil Whitehurst in 1997, Active Research has been rapidly transformed into a leading manufacturer of specialist marine electronics products. From a small one-bedroom operation, the company has continued to expand and is now situated within an 8000-square ft. commercial facility in Harwell Road, Poole.

Marking the landmark anniversary, Active Research welcomed VIP guests including the Mayor of Poole Councillor Lindsay Wilson, the Mayoress and Sheriff of Poole Councillor Sean Gabriel. The celebration included a guided tour and exclusive preview of Active Research’s latest product developments. This gave attendees the opportunity to discover what the future of has in store for the company and the Actisense brand. Delivering speeches, Phil Whitehurst thanked numerous supporters, whilst VIP guests including the Mayor of Poole also acknowledged Active Research’s contributions to the international marine industry.
