The ROV Hook was designed in 2017 to offer a product that met both the operational safety standards as well as the speed of use requirements the industry faced, thus reducing time penalties and increased costs. The ROV Hook was met with great enthusiasm and over the years has evolved.
The RUD ROV Hook is now available in 10t and 25t working load limit capacity hooks. They offer a safety factor of 4:1 and eliminate the risk of snagging and accidental shedding of loads. It is 100% crack tested and can withstand a dynamic loading of more than 20,000 load cycles according to European Standard EN 1677.
Having been developed for the market by the market, tried and tested over the years on many subsea projects, it clear to see the standard of safety it offers. The innovative twin trigger mechanism ensures that the hook can only open when both locking mechanisms are pressed simultaneously. Accidental opening of the hook and loss of
loads are therefore impossible.
The benefits of the RUD ROV Hooks are plentiful, the hook can be operated by all commonly used ROV manipulators, including the grabber and can be approached at inclined angles up to 30° perpendicular to the hook flat side.
