Shearwater Marine Services Awarded OHAS 18001:2007 And ISO 14001:2008 Accreditations For Environment

Shearwater Marine Services have been awarded internationally recognised OHAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2008 accreditations for environmental protection and health and safety management. The awards are the result of the company’s ongoing efforts to deliver services in a safe and responsible manner.

Both accreditations were issued following a rigorous onsite audit of Shearwater’s policies and practices by QMS International. This process included detailed workplace inspections, interviews and samples of operations to ensure that robust procedures are followed to identify, control and minimise risk to persons and the environment.

Alastair Baird, Director said: “Being awarded with these highly respected accreditations is a great achievement for our company, and confirms that management systems that were developed and implemented by us many years ago were, and are, entirely in line with modern recognised standards.”

General Manager, Tommy Henaughen added: “Shearwater are fully committed to providing a world-class service for our clients wherever we operate, irrespective whether our customers are large multinational organisations or small local engineering firms.”

Shearwater celebrated their 25th anniversary in March this year and are full members of the Association of Diving Contractors (ADC). They offer a comprehensive range of engineering solutions above and below the waterline and as the sister company to The Professional Diving Academy in Dunoon, they have an outstanding reputation for providing professional, innovative and competitive solutions for the marine sector. The new awards add to the company’s existing quality management accreditations (ISO: 9001:2008) and health, safety and the environment (Achilles.)
