PREVIEW OF MEERCAT'S NEW MRV22

Meercat Boats’ new vessel, the Multi Role Vessel 22, aka the MRV22, has received an inspection visit by her new owner, Topbond plc.

The MRV22 is Meercat Boat’s largest workboat to date. The steel vessel has been specifically designed with a drop down bow which enables ease of access for trucks/heavy plant; in addition to ‘standard’ Meercat features including excellent cargo carrying capacity, superb manoeuvrability, well thought-out arrangement and exceptional build quality, to MCA Workboat Code of Practice Category 2.

The MRV22’s owner, Topbond plc, is the UK’s leading independent maritime civil engineering provider. Topbond’s recent projects span both maritime and commercial projects including the award-winning London City Airport expansion, Dover Harbour fendering replacement scheme, and the Llanddulas Jetty refurbishment in North Wales. Topbond’s MD, Glenn Springett, is delighted with the progress of the vessel, commenting;

“Following our successful purchase of a 15 metre Meercat Boat, Toploader in 2016, we decided to purchase the 22 metre as it is ideally suited to landing craft operations across civil engineering, aquaculture and logistics. The standard of build is excellent and we are looking forward to its launch.”

Topbond’s new 22m workboat is currently undergoing her finishing touches, including interior fit out to her twin cabins, three berths accommodation arrangement, final engine alignment checks and first engine start up. The MRV22 will commence her sea trials during the next few weeks and will be available for charter from mid-April.
