New Look NAB Returns for Haslar Dredge

The winter dredging season got under way this month at Haslar Marina with Jenkins Marine’s Multi-role dredging veteran Doreen Dorward and a new look split hopper barge NAB on site to carry out the work. The 300m³ capacity self-propelled, split hopper barge returns to work after a few months of refit work to install a new wheelhouse and 200kva generator powered bowthruster! With a clean hull and fully rebuilt main thruster, NAB will be off to a flying start! Visibility is also now greatly improved thanks to the upgraded wheelhouse, complete with new comfortable crew accommodation to comply with the maritime labour convention.

Haslar Marina, operated by ‘Boatfolk Marinas’ are continuing their commitment to complete maintenance dredging across the whole of the marina to restore it to ideal dredged depths for marina users. Jenkins Marine have been working their way through this commitment for them over the past several years.

Haslar Marina Gosport, Hampshire, is an all tide 650 berth marina which requires regular maintenance dredging and this year there is about 10,000m³ to dredge and dispose of, which will be completed before the end of October 2021. The spoil will be loaded into self propelled split hopper barge “NAB” for disposal to the aptly named Nab spoil site.
