As many of us grapple with the weather spare a thought for the crews of Jenkins Marine’s coastal towage and tugboat vessels as they make their way around a very stormy coastline assisting with cargos and vessels from smaller deck barges up to the unique heavy transport barge Terra Marique.
As it has on many previous occasions, their twin screw Damen Shoalbuster tugboat DMS Condor continues to provide towing services to the 80m long, semi-submergible, unique heavy transport barge Terra Marique around the UK and EU coast as it delivers essential cargos on behalf of Robert Wynn and Sons.

DMS Condor is well suited for this role due its powerful engines, 24t bollard pull and wire rope towing winch equipped with 300m of 36mm wire rope. DMS Condor is also certificated under the MCA CAT1 Workboat Code of Practice for operation up to 150 nautical miles from a safe haven for general operations. Accommodation for 4 crew makes it ideal for long coastal tows, particularly when storms may delay or bring an unexpected pause to a journey.

No stranger to coastal towage the powerful 37t Bollard Pull, Damen MultiCat, Wind Lass offers a shallow draft, two powerful 230tm deck cranes, towing and anchor handling winches, and substantial deck space. The powerful bollard pull combined with three Caterpillar C32 TTA engines, makes it highly efficient for towing, pushing, anchor handling. Wind Lass is certified MCA Category 1 for operation up to 150nm from safe haven and is also equipped with a wire rope winch fitted with an impressive 600m of 40mm wire rope.
Also hard at work around the coast is Jenkins Marine’s twin-screw tugboat Polmear. Certificated under the MCA CAT2 Workboat Code for operations up to 60 nautical miles from a safe haven, Polmear is perfectly suited for short distance towing operations with an estimated range up to 700 Nm. A spacious aft deck and quick release towing hook, with remove release capability, combined with a 9.5 ton bollard pull, means Polmear is ideally suited for safe towing and harbour support operations – whatever the weather.
